Nepal’s Communist Party of Nepal (Unified Marxist-Leninist) (CPN-UML) and the Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist Centre) have reached a three-point agreement to form an alliance in the provinces.
CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli and Maoist Centre Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal agreed on the alliance on Saturday, with a written agreement outlining cooperation in the provincial assemblies and the formation of a joint government.
According to the agreement, the CPN-UML will lead the governments in the Koshi, Bagmati, and Lumbini provinces, while the Maoist Centre will lead in the Karnali and Sudurpashchim provinces.
The agreement also states that the two parties will consult with other parties to determine the leadership and participation in the governments of the Madhes and Gandaki provinces.
The agreement aims to resolve recent misunderstandings, budget disputes, and political rivalries in the provincial assemblies, promoting political stability, good governance, and development.
The agreement was signed by CPN-UML Chairman Oli and Maoist Centre Chairman Dahal.
