Nepal’s 2.24 trillion rupee budget for the fiscal year 2083/84 has come into effect from Friday, the first day of the new fiscal year.
The government had announced a budget of 2.24 trillion rupees for the current fiscal year, with 59.8% allocated for current expenditure, 20.3% for capital expenditure, and 19.9% for financial management.
The government aims to collect 1.45 trillion rupees in revenue and receive 61.74 billion rupees in foreign grants. It also plans to borrow 2.47 trillion rupees from foreign sources and 419 billion rupees from domestic sources.
The budget for the current fiscal year is 5.6% higher than the previous year’s budget of 1.96 trillion rupees.
