Nepali Congress Holds ‘Green Run’ to Raise Climate Awareness

The Nepali Congress has organized a ‘Green Run’ in the Kathmandu Valley to raise public awareness about climate change.

The event, which took place this morning, was attended by party leaders and cadres, including Congress President Gagan Kumar Thapa.

The ‘Green Run’ is part of a series of events being held to mark the 44th memorial day of Jananayak BP Koirala. The event was organized by the party’s Central Policy, Research, and Training Institute.

According to Congress Vice-President and Institute Chief Vishwa Prakash Sharma, the five-kilometer run was held under the slogan ‘Let’s Unite to Raise Climate Awareness.’

Climate Change Discussion

A group discussion on ‘Climate Change Challenges: How to Address Them’ will be held at Jawalakhel Chowk, Falcha, following the run. The discussion will feature experts in the field.

Simultaneously, a painting exhibition will be held at the same venue, featuring artworks by renowned artists that highlight the challenges and opportunities presented by climate change.

Humanitarian Fund

The Nepali Congress has announced that it will establish a ‘Humanitarian Cooperation Fund’ based on the number of participants in the ‘Green Run.’ The fund will be used to support elderly and children from displaced families in Sukumbasi.

Upcoming Events

The party has also announced that it will hold a declaration program for its new campaign on Ashar 7. Additionally, a seminar on ‘New Situation: New Resolve, New Campaign’ will be held at the National Assembly Hall.
