The Nepal Volleyball League (NVL) is set to hold its first-ever auction on Sunday. A total of 129 players have registered for the auction, according to the NVL.

The league’s Head of Operations, Pujan Thapa, stated that 56 players are in Category ‘A’ and 73 in Category ‘B’. Each of the six participating teams will sign 7-7 players from the auction, with 4 from Category ‘A’ and 3 from Category ‘B’.

The minimum and maximum prices for Category ‘A’ players have been set at Rs 100,000 and Rs 120,000, respectively, while for Category ‘B’ players, the minimum and maximum prices are Rs 50,000 and Rs 70,000.

Each team will have a total of 12 players, including a marquee player. In addition to the 7 players signed from the auction, each team will sign 3 foreign players and 1 player from a talent hunt.

All six teams have already announced their marquee players. They are Hari Bahadur Thapa of Sagarmatha Smashers, Ravin Nagarjoti of Madhesh Warriors, Sunil Bohara of Kathmandu Reds, Himal Sunar of Annapurna Spikers, Pheel Gahatraj of Karnali Shivaraj, and Dhiraj Basnet of Khaptad Falcons.

The NVL, organized by Kedia Group, will be held at the Tripureshwor-based National Sports Council (NSC) multipurpose covered hall from Bhadra 12 to 20.
