India to Build School in Nepal’s Darchula

India has announced plans to build a school in Nepal’s Darchula district.

The Indian Embassy in Kathmandu has signed an agreement with the Shailyashikhar Municipality to construct a building for the Gokuleshwar Secondary School in Ward No. 9 of the municipality.

According to the embassy, the project will be implemented at a cost of around Rs 7.5 crore, provided by the Government of India under its community development programme.

This is the 11th high-impact community development project to be implemented in Darchula.

India-Nepal Cooperation

The embassy stated that the project is part of the broader cooperation between India and Nepal, which has been strengthened due to their geographical proximity.

During the inauguration ceremony, the Mayor of Shailyashikhar Municipality, Vijaysingh Dhami, and other stakeholders praised the Government of India for its continued support for development projects in Nepal.
