Agriculture, Forest and Environment Minister Gita Chaudhary has announced that an integrated agriculture programme will be implemented in 10 municipalities of the Madhes Province.
Speaking at a high-level meeting on federal-provincial coordination, Minister Chaudhary said the programme will focus on agricultural research, technology transfer and organic farming, and will provide direct services to farmers.
The programme will be implemented in 10 municipalities of the province, as recommended by the provincial government, and will prioritize policy implementation over policy-making.
Minister Chaudhary expressed her commitment to implementing the programme, which aims to increase agricultural production, provide technical services, training and counselling to farmers, and promote modern technology.
The programme will also focus on sustainable agriculture, soil conservation and safe food production, and will prioritize organic farming.
Minister Chaudhary emphasized the need for effective coordination between the federal, provincial and local governments to achieve sustainable development in the agriculture, forest and environment sectors.
She also expressed her commitment to addressing the suggestions received from the provincial government and to working together to implement the programme successfully.
Madhes Province Chief Minister Krishna Prasad Yadav expressed his readiness to coordinate and cooperate with the federal and local governments to implement the programme, and assured that the provincial government will provide full support to the federal government to make the programme a success.
