A young man in Nepal’s Sarlahi district has climbed an 80-meter-tall Nepal Telecom tower, demanding that his girlfriend’s family agree to their marriage.

Afsar Alam Hussein, 24, from Bakainiya in Godaita Municipality-9, ascended the tower in Malangwa Municipality-9 on Sunday morning.

According to eyewitnesses, Hussein has been refusing to come down, saying he will not budge unless his girlfriend’s family agrees to the marriage.

Locals have gathered at the scene, and police are trying to persuade Hussein to descend safely.

The situation remains tense, with concerns for Hussein’s safety growing by the hour.
