Nepal’s parliamentary Finance Committee has held discussions with stakeholders on a proposed bill to amend the Nepal Rastra Bank Act, 2058.

The committee’s secretary, Laxman Aryal, said that today’s meeting included discussions with representatives from the Nepal Bankers’ Association and the Bank and Financial Institutions Association.

Representatives from the Ministry of Finance, Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, and the Nepal Rastra Bank also participated in the discussion.

The government had registered the bill in the federal parliament on Jestha 11, 2083.

The Ministry of Finance said the proposed amendments aim to make the country’s monetary and financial system more robust, reliable, and timely.
