Nepal Football Clubs Demand End to FIFA Ban and Restart of Leagues

Nepal’s football clubs have urged the government to intervene and end the country’s FIFA ban, which has been in place for several years.

Twenty-one clubs participating in the Martyrs Memorial League have issued a joint statement calling for an end to external interference in the All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) and the lifting of the FIFA ban.

The clubs claim that the ban has severely affected thousands of Nepali football players, coaches, referees, and others who depend on the sport.

Clubs Demand Restart of Leagues

The clubs have also demanded that the government put pressure on ANFA to hold its elections and restart the suspended national and women’s leagues as soon as possible.

The leagues, including the Martyrs Memorial League, the National League, and the Women’s League, have been suspended due to the FIFA ban.

The clubs have expressed frustration that despite the lengthy ban, no concrete steps have been taken by the relevant authorities to lift the suspension.

The clubs’ statement was issued on Ashar 8, 2083, and comes as the football community in Nepal continues to feel the effects of the ban.
