A significant decision has been made to facilitate development projects within protected areas in Nepal. The Council of Ministers meeting held at Singha Durbar on Thursday approved a proposal to simplify the process of implementing development projects within national forest areas.

According to the decision, once the Nepal government has granted initial approval for a project, subsequent approvals for the removal of trees or poles within the same project area can be obtained directly from the ministry. This move is expected to reduce unnecessary delays and bureaucratic hurdles in the implementation of development projects, accelerate infrastructure development, and make the legal process more effective and efficient.
