Nepal Communist Party Urged to Avoid Unholy Alliance

Nepal Communist Party (NCP) senior leader Jhalanath Khanal has urged the party to avoid an unholy alliance with the right-wing forces, warning that it could damage the party’s reputation.

In a statement released on Sunday, Khanal said the party should not engage in any new political alliance without holding a meeting of the central coordination committee.

"In this complex situation, the Nepal Communist Party should not think about any new political alliance without holding a meeting of the central coordination committee," Khanal said.

He emphasized the need for the party to prioritize its revolutionary goals and class perspective, rather than engaging in opportunistic alliances.

Khanal also expressed concern that some party leaders were more interested in personal gain and power than in serving the people.

"We must understand that this is not a time for opportunistic alliances, but a time for the party to be reorganized and transformed based on its correct direction," Khanal said.

He also criticized the new government led by Prime Minister Balendra Shah, saying it had failed to address the country’s pressing problems and had instead created new challenges for the nation.

"The government has failed to address the country’s problems, and instead, the nation’s sovereignty, national independence, and people’s livelihoods are at risk," Khanal said.

He called on the party to unite with other patriotic, democratic, and progressive forces to protect the country’s interests and promote the welfare of the people.
