Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Bhujpur District Committee has initiated disciplinary action against several leaders, including the deputy mayor and ward chair of Bhujpur Municipality.
The party has accused them of engaging in activities contrary to its policies, principles, and organizational discipline. Nirmala Sherpa, the deputy mayor of Bhujpur Municipality, has been recommended for expulsion from the party and removal from her post.
Similarly, Navin Pradhan, a member of the NCP Bhujpur District Committee Secretariat and ward chair of Ward No. 8, has been expelled from the party. The party has also initiated legal proceedings to remove him from his post as ward chair.
Other leaders who have faced disciplinary action include Bimal Ranpaheli, Suman Pradhan, Renuka Bhujel, Kopila Rai, Baburam Tamang, and Dipen Darnal.
According to a press release issued by the NCP Bhujpur on Saturday, the leaders were accused of making public statements against the party, misusing their positions as public representatives, and actively promoting other political parties.
Defection to Shram Sanskriti Party
The leaders who faced disciplinary action had joined the Shram Sanskriti Party on Friday during a program in Bhujpur. They were inducted into the party in the presence of its chairman, Harikaraj Sampang, and Dhruv Rai, a member of the Provincial Assembly from Bhujpur.
