Nepal Clashes: Captainganj Community Calls for Justice, Not Retaliation

Captainganj, Sunsari. The streets of Captainganj are still reeling from the clashes that broke out on Sunday evening, but the local community is calling for justice, not retaliation. The incident, which began as a dispute over a flag, escalated into a full-blown clash between two groups, resulting in the death of 24-year-old Om Prakash Mehata.

Despite the tension, the community is urging for a thorough investigation and punishment for those responsible, rather than seeking revenge. "The guilty should be punished according to the law, but we should not let this incident divide our community," said Maulana Habib Mansuri, a local resident.

The incident has brought back memories of past communal tensions in the area, but the community is determined to maintain peace and harmony. "We have been living together for centuries, and we should not let this incident come between us," said Maulana Salim Mansuri.

The government has formed a committee to investigate the incident, and the community is hopeful that justice will be served. "We are confident that the committee will uncover the truth and punish those responsible," said Mugalal Mehata, a former Constituent Assembly member.
