A magnitude 5 earthquake struck Rukum East on Sunday evening, according to the National Seismological Centre.
The quake, with its epicentre in the Kol area of Rukum East, occurred at 4:30 pm local time and was measured at 5.0 magnitude on the local scale.
People in Rukum East and surrounding districts, including Arghakhanchi, Dang, and Rolpa, reported feeling the strong tremors.
No immediate reports of human casualties or property damage have been received.
