Nepal Communist Party (Maoist) Chairman KP Sharma Oli has commented that the number of youths leaving the country has increased compared to the past, but no one is speaking out about it.

Addressing a programme organised for the party’s lawmakers on Sunday, Oli said, ‘In the past, there was a big fuss about sending people abroad and going abroad, but now the number of people going abroad has increased, and it’s quiet.’

Right to Leave the Country

Oli explained that it is the right of the youths to leave the country. ‘The situation in the past was unnatural, but now it’s natural. They can go wherever they want, just like the wind blows,’ he said.

Oli added that some people are misusing this freedom for their own narrow interests, against the interests of the people. ‘The distorted information needs to be corrected, and the correct information needs to be presented to the people,’ he said.

Role of Parliament

Oli reminded that parliament is the place where the correct information can be presented to the people. ‘Even if we don’t have the numbers to make laws, parliament is also a place where we can raise issues in the interest of the people,’ he said.
