The Kanchanpur District Court has made significant improvements in its case disposal rate, according to the court’s performance report for the fiscal year 2082/83.
During an interaction with journalists on Friday, District Judge Rajendra Bhandari said that the court had achieved a 108% target in case disposal, with 1,524 cases disposed of out of a target of 1,411.
He added that the court had a total of 2,208 cases registered, including 688 cases carried over from the previous year and 1,520 new cases.
Case Disposal Rate
According to the court’s statistics, the case disposal rate for the fiscal year 2082/83 stood at 69.34%.
Judge Bhandari said that 684 cases were still pending disposal.
Revenue Collection
The court also reported a significant increase in revenue collection, with Rs 5.13 crore collected out of a total of Rs 30.14 crore.
A total of Rs 25.01 crore was still to be collected.
Judge Bhandari attributed the increase in case disposal rate to the addition of a new court, which had helped to reduce the backlog of cases.
However, he noted that the court was still facing challenges in disposing of cases due to a shortage of resources and the non-availability of evidence in some cases.
The court has also taken steps to expedite the execution of judgments and the collection of fines and compensation.
Despite these efforts, the court was unable to achieve its target in some areas, including the execution of judgments and the collection of fines and compensation.
Judge Bhandari expressed hope that the court would be able to improve its performance in the coming year.
