India’s Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan Resigns

India’s Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has resigned from his post, amid ongoing protests by the Janata Party (CJP) at Jantar Mantar in Delhi for nearly a month.

The protests, which have been taking place across various states in India, have been demanding Pradhan’s resignation over the NIT paper leak issue.

Pradhan announced his resignation on social media platform X, stating that he did not want the current situation to be taken advantage of by anti-national forces and to maintain the country’s unity.

‘Keeping in mind the current situation at Jantar Mantar and across the country, I have submitted my resignation to the Honorable Prime Minister, so that the country’s unity is maintained, not a single student in India is affected by legal complications, our students can focus on their studies and career development,’ he wrote.

Prior to this, opposition parties, including the Congress, had also been demanding Pradhan’s resignation.
