Kathmandu. Heavy rainfall has been recorded in various districts of the country, including Kathmandu, according to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology.
According to the department’s records, 136mm of rainfall was recorded in Gobre, Sindhupalchok, in the last 12 hours, making it the highest rainfall in the country.
Other districts that received significant rainfall include Nawalparasi East with 94mm, Kaski with 76mm, Rukum East with 56mm, Lamjung with 76mm, and Chitwan with 56mm.
The department has stated that the monsoon winds are currently affecting the country, with the low-pressure line located near the Tarai region in the west and the eastern part of the country.
According to meteorologist Meenakumar Aryal, there is a possibility of heavy rainfall in one or two places in the Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces tonight.
The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority has issued a warning stating that there is a risk of flooding in the Melamchi and Indrawati river basins due to heavy rainfall, and has urged people to take necessary precautions.
