Heavy Rain Expected in Parts of Gandaki, Lumbini, and Karnali Provinces

According to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, a monsoon wind system is currently affecting the entire country.

The monsoon low-pressure line is located in the western part of the country, slightly north of its normal position, and in the eastern part, it is near its normal position. Cloudy conditions are prevailing across the country.

Light to moderate rainfall is occurring in some areas of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpashchim provinces.

There is a possibility of heavy rainfall in some areas of the hilly regions of Gandaki, Lumbini, and Karnali provinces. Cloudy conditions are expected in the hilly and mountainous regions during the day.

Partly cloudy conditions are expected in the Tarai regions of Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, and Sudurpashchim provinces, while some areas of Madhes and Koshi provinces may experience partly cloudy conditions.

There is a possibility of moderate rainfall with thunderstorms and gusty winds in some areas of the hilly and mountainous regions, as well as in some areas of the Tarai regions of Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, and Sudurpashchim provinces.

The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has warned of possible flash floods, landslides, and soil erosion in areas where heavy rainfall is expected, and has advised people to take necessary precautions to minimize the risk of damage and disruption to daily life, agriculture, health, tourism, mountaineering, and road and air transportation.
