Complaints related to foreign employment scams can now be registered at district administration offices. The Department of Foreign Employment has developed an online system for complaint and issue management, allowing victims to register complaints online.

Through this system, victims of foreign employment scams can register complaints with necessary documents. Complaints can be filed for issues such as not being sent abroad despite being promised, being charged excessive fees, passports being withheld, and not receiving agreed-upon work, salary, or services.

Victims or their family members can file complaints from both within the country and abroad. The department will provide regular updates on the status of registered complaints via email and SMS.

Decentralization of Complaint Registration

Once the system is fully implemented, foreign employment-related complaints can be registered at all 77 district administration offices. Additionally, preliminary investigations and settlements will also be handled at the district level.

This is expected to eliminate the need for victims to travel to Kathmandu for regular procedures. Cases of minor scams will be settled at the district level, while serious cases will be investigated by the Department of Foreign Employment.

This move aims to provide justice to victims, relief and compensation to migrant workers, and facilitate the rescue of stranded workers.
