Flash Flood Risk in 31 Districts of Nepal

A flash flood warning has been issued for 31 districts across Nepal, with a moderate risk of sudden flooding expected in the coming hours.

The Meteorological Forecasting Division issued a bulletin on Friday morning, stating that small rivers and streams in these districts may experience a significant increase in water levels.

Residents in areas surrounding the rivers and streams in districts including Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, Lalitpur, Kavrepalanchok, Sindhupalchok, Makwanpur, Dhading, Nuwakot, Chitwan, Nawalparasi (East), Palpa, Arghakhanchi, Tanahun, Lamjung, Kaski, Syangja, Parbat, Baglung, Banke, Bardiya, Kailali, and Surkhet have been urged to exercise extreme caution.

In addition, the Meteorological Forecasting Division has also warned of a moderate risk of flash flooding in small rivers and streams in districts such as Okhaldhunga, Ramechhap, Rukum East, Jajarkot, Doti, Dadeldhura, Bajhang, and Darchula.

Locals living in riverbank areas, flood-prone zones, and near streams have been advised to remain highly vigilant and take necessary precautions.
