A man has been arrested in Rupandehi on charges of extorting money by impersonating a mobile policeman.
Rakeshratna Rana, 49, of Balaapur in Om Satya village municipality-4, who was renting a house in Shantinagar, Siddharthanagar municipality-13, was arrested by a police team that was deployed based on a special tip-off.
According to the police, Rana was demanding Rs 10,000 from locals by introducing himself as a mobile policeman.
A fake pistol, marijuana, a mobile phone, and Rs 2,600 were recovered from Rana when he was arrested.
