Dr Govinda KC’s Health Deteriorates During Hunger Strike

Dr Govinda KC, who has been on a hunger strike in Dhangadhi for the past three days, is showing signs of weakness, according to the Seti Provincial Hospital.

In a press statement released on Saturday evening, the hospital said Dr KC is experiencing difficulty speaking and walking due to his weakened state. The hospital also stated that Dr KC has refused to take medication to increase his sugar levels.

A four-member treatment team of doctors has been formed to provide 24-hour intensive monitoring of Dr KC’s condition, the hospital added.

Dr KC began his hunger strike on Thursday from the Dharamshala in Dhangadhi, putting forth various demands. After his health began to deteriorate, he was shifted to the Seti Provincial Hospital on Saturday morning and is currently being treated in the ICU.

Meanwhile, the government has sent Education and Sports Ministry Secretary Chudamani Paudel to Dhangadhi to hold talks with Dr KC.
