Dharmendra Pradhan Resigns: Sonam Wangchuk Calls it a Victory for Democracy

Engineer Sonam Wangchuk has welcomed the resignation of Central Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, calling it a ‘victory for democracy’. He praised the role played by the Janata Party (CJP), the youth, and citizens across the country.

‘This is a victory for democracy, direct democracy… it has come straight from the streets. This is a victory for peace, patience, and determination,’ he said.

Wangchuk added, ‘Congratulations to the CJP and the youth of the nation, and thank you to all the citizens who have risen from every corner of the country, overcoming fear and intimidation. Now, from accountability to improvement.’

Indian National Congress Reacts

Meanwhile, Indian National Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge has reacted strongly to the development. He called it a major victory for students and youth, and demanded that Prime Minister Narendra Modi apologize.

‘The voice of the youth has finally reached the arrogant government,’ Kharge said. ‘This is a victory for our millions of youth who have raised their voices across the country to improve the education system.’

He added, ‘This is a victory for truth and a defeat for Modi’s stubbornness. This is a victory for all those families who have lost their loved ones, because this government is corrupt. This is also a victory for the united opposition, which has raised its voice in the interest of students from Parliament to the streets.’

Kharge further demanded, ‘Now it’s time for Modi to apologize to our youth and take strict action against those who ordered the use of lathis, sticks, and pellet guns against them.’
