Dairy Development Corporation Sets Deadline for Milk Suppliers

The government-owned Dairy Development Corporation (DDC) has taken a new step to modernize and organize its milk collection system.

DDC, which has been collecting milk from farmers across the country for a long time, has set a deadline of Shrawan 29, 2083, for dairy cooperatives and private farms to make mandatory contact and renew their milk supply agreements.

The DDC Central Office in Lainchaur has issued a notice stating that it has adopted a new policy to make milk collection ‘technology-friendly, predictable, sustainable, and more organized’ from the current fiscal year 2083/84.

New Policy

Dairy cooperatives and private farms that want to continue doing business with DDC must make contact by the end of Shrawan. The corporation has made it clear that it will not be obligated to purchase milk from institutions and farms that do not make contact within the specified time frame.

‘Institutions and farms that do not make contact by Shrawan 29, 2083, will not be obligated to trade milk with the corporation,’ the notice states.

According to the notice, DDC may not collect milk from farms or cooperatives that do not make contact after Shrawan 29.

DDC has been working in the dairy sector for 57 years, collecting milk from cooperatives, private farms, and farmers.
