Cancer patients in Nepal are being forced to travel to India for treatment after the linear accelerator at the Sushil Koirala Prakhar Cancer Hospital in Khajura, Banke, has been out of order for nearly three months.
The hospital’s radiotherapy services have been suspended since the machine broke down, leaving patients with no choice but to seek treatment elsewhere.
As a result, many cancer patients who were receiving daily treatment at the hospital are now being forced to travel to various hospitals in India.
The hospital’s linear accelerator, which is a crucial piece of equipment for cancer treatment, has been inactive since Ashar 29, 2083.
Patients and their families are facing significant challenges and expenses as they are forced to travel to India for treatment.
