A 13-year-old boy who was rescued from the Bagmati River in Kathmandu has died while undergoing treatment.
Urgen Gurung was swept away by the river’s currents while swimming in Sundarijal, Gokarneshwar Municipality-1, on Sunday afternoon.
Police and army personnel had launched a search operation and rescued Gurung from the river. He was rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment but succumbed to his injuries.
The incident has raised concerns about the safety of the river and the need for measures to prevent such accidents in the future.
