YouTube personality MrBeast, whose real name is Jimmy Donaldson, has married his long-time girlfriend Thia Bia in a private ceremony on Richard Branson’s Necker Island.
Donaldson shared photos of the wedding ceremony on Instagram, writing ‘I met MrsBeast’ with a heart emoji. He also described the day as ‘the best day of my life’.
According to People, Thia wore a white gown designed by Nicole Pletzke Felicia Couture, while Donaldson wore a tuxedo by Ralph Lauren. The ceremony was attended by around 70 friends and family members.
After the wedding, Thia changed her name to Thia Donaldson. The couple first met in 2022 when Donaldson visited Thia’s hometown in South Africa.
In an interview with People, Thia recalled their first meeting, saying ‘I was surprised by how down-to-earth and intelligent he was.’ She also mentioned that she had expected him to be arrogant, but he wasn’t.
Donaldson had sent Thia a direct message on social media, which led to them starting a relationship. They began dating soon after and made their first public appearance together at the 2022 Kids’ Choice Awards.
The Wedding Celebration
The couple had planned a week-long wedding celebration from July 14, which included activities like kitesurfing and snorkeling for their guests.
After exchanging their vows, the newlyweds shared their first dance to Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars’ hit song ‘Die With a Smile’, according to People’s report.
Speaking about the wedding, Thia said that they had been working towards getting married since they started dating, so the ceremony was just a formality.
‘It may sound weird, but this is really just a formality. We’ve been working towards getting married since we started dating, and now the world knows we’re married,’ she said.
‘But we’re still going to go back to our home, our dog, and our cat, and then we’ll embark on our next adventure,’ Thia added.
She also praised Donaldson for making their guests feel comfortable and included during the wedding celebration.
‘Jimmy made sure all our guests felt comfortable and included. He even knew my extended family well. Those moments were truly special, and it made me love him even more,’ she said.
In 2025, Donaldson had spent $500,000 to rent out Disneyland for a date night with Thia.
Donaldson’s MrBeast YouTube channel is the most-subscribed channel on the platform.
