A youth who was stranded in the Mahakali River in Kanchanpur has been rescued by a joint team of the Armed Police Force and the Nepal Police.
According to Prem Prakash Sigdel, Inspector of the Armed Police Force No. 35 Shailleshwari Gana, the youth, identified as Umesh Chaulagain, 52, from Kavrepalanchok’s Chaunrideurali Municipality-6, was rescued from the middle of the Mahakali River, about two kilometers south of the Dodhara-Chandani Jhulunge Pul.
The rescue team consisted of personnel from the Armed Police Force and the local police station, who were trained in disaster response.
With the onset of the monsoon season, the water level in the Mahakali River has increased, and the authorities have urged the public to exercise caution.
