Two hosts of the Today show have been granted a restraining order against a man who allegedly breached the programme’s studio and confronted them.

Andrew Truelove is accused of slipping past security and asking for Al Roker before turning his attention to Craig Melvin, who he allegedly lunged at while using a racial slur.

Truelove’s attorney confirmed that a judge has issued a protective order requiring him to stay away from both men.

Restrictions

Under the terms of the order, Truelove is barred from approaching the hosts at NBC or their homes. However, he is currently being held at Rikers Island on $20,000 bail, facing charges related to hate crimes.

Craig Melvin addressed the incident on a recent broadcast, expressing gratitude that the suspect was arrested and no one was injured.
