Students from Duhdedaha Basic School in Chankheli-1, Humla, have been protesting in front of the rural municipality office, demanding the presence of their teacher.
The school has been without a teacher since the teacher assigned by the municipality, Man Bahadur Shahi, stopped showing up to work four months ago.
The students, holding placards, have been demonstrating and calling for the immediate deployment of a teacher.
Teacher’s Absence
According to Uddim Dhital, head of the education branch of the rural municipality, Man Bahadur Shahi was assigned to the school in Chaitra but has not been present since then.
Following the students’ protest, Dhital said that a conversation was held with Shahi, who agreed to be present at the school starting from Sunday.
The absence of the teacher has affected the studies of the students, and the municipality has been urged to take immediate action to address the issue.
