Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) lawmaker Yagya Bhattarai Nyaupane has raised concerns over the judiciary’s structure and functioning after the Special Court ordered the release of CPN-UML Vice-Chairman Vishnu Paudel in a property laundering case.

Nyaupane, who is also a lawyer, expressed his views on social media, stating that the recent developments have highlighted the need for judicial reform. He emphasized that without restructuring the judiciary, it would be challenging to establish good governance and control corruption in the country.

“The judiciary must be reviewed rigorously, and the time for reform has already arrived,” Nyaupane wrote on Facebook. “The country can only move towards transformation if the reform process moves forward.” He clarified that his views were not a knee-jerk reaction but rather a conclusion drawn from in-depth study and analysis.

Nyaupane stressed that all state agencies must adapt to changes over time, and only then can the country embark on a path of transformation.
