Over 1,100 People in Gulmi Receive Passports at Home

In a move to bring government services closer to the people, the government has expanded the ‘Passport at Home’ service to all 12 local governments in Gulmi district.

The service, which was launched in Resunga Municipality, has now been extended to all municipalities and rural municipalities in the district, according to Chief District Officer Badri Nath Gaihre.

Convenience for Citizens

So far, 1,110 people have benefited from the service, which aims to provide convenient access to government services, especially for those seeking passports for foreign employment, study, and other purposes.

Citizens no longer need to travel to the district headquarters to collect their passports, saving time and money.

Previously, even after the passport was ready, citizens had to visit the district administration office or the relevant office again to collect it.

However, the postal service department has now arranged for passports to be delivered to citizens’ homes in coordination with the local governments, according to Kheta Bahadur Khatri, chief of the district postal office.

The service is expected to be particularly beneficial for citizens in rural areas, and plans are underway to make it even more effective, according to Chief District Officer Gaihre.
