Nepal’s share market has seen a significant increase, with the Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) index rising by 14.17 points to 2,726.
The market had previously seen a decline of 13.95 points. Today’s increase has brought the Nepse index to its highest point of the day, with a low of 2,689 points recorded at 12:23 pm.
A total of 149 companies saw an increase in their share prices, while 115 companies saw a decline. The share prices of 12 companies remained stable.
However, the total transaction amount decreased to Rs 4.67 billion from Rs 5.18 billion on the previous day.
Most of the group-wise indices saw an increase, with the trade group seeing the highest increase of 2.58%. The banking group saw an increase of 0.38%, while the development bank group saw an increase of 0.74%.
The hotel and tourism group saw an increase of 0.99%, while the hydropower group saw an increase of 1.12%. The life insurance group saw an increase of 0.29%, while the manufacturing and processing group saw an increase of 0.31%.
The microfinance group saw an increase of 0.13%, while the non-life insurance group saw an increase of 0.64%. The others group saw a decline of 0.08%, while the investment group saw a decline of 0.42%.
Newly listed company Everest Color saw a 15% increase in its share price. Snow River, Apollo Hydro Power, Hotel Forest, and Sopan Pharmaceuticals also saw significant increases in their share prices.
Kutheli Buhari Small Hydro Power saw a 15% decline in its share price, which was affected by the lock-in period of its shares. The lock-in period, which ended on Wednesday, had restricted the sale of 1.2 million shares by the company’s founders, locals, and employees.
Bung Hidro Power and Reliance Spinning Mills also saw significant declines in their share prices.
The companies with the highest transaction amounts today were Reliance Spinning Mills, Ankhu Khola Hydro Power, Ridi Power, Solu Hydro Power, and NRN Infrastructure.
