Nepal’s Department of Industry Approves Foreign Investment Worth Rs 58 Billion

The Department of Industry has approved foreign investment commitments worth Rs 58 billion 1 crore 85 lakh 305 in the fiscal year 2082/83.

According to the department, 897 projects worth Rs 9 billion 58 crores were approved through the ‘automatic route’ from Shrawan to the end of Ashar, while 219 projects worth Rs 48 billion 41 crore 66 lakh 3000 25 were approved through the ‘approval route’.

Sector-wise Investment

Last year, the department approved foreign investment commitments worth Rs 3 billion 91 crores for 63 projects in the manufacturing sector.

Similarly, four projects in the energy sector received foreign investment commitments worth Rs 7 billion 16 crores.

For the agriculture sector, 18 projects received foreign investment commitments worth Rs 23 billion 18 crores.

The tourism sector saw 227 projects receive foreign investment commitments worth Rs 13 billion 99 crores.

Additionally, 727 projects in the information technology sector received foreign investment commitments worth Rs 2 billion 83 crores.
