A group of Nepali youths in Japan have opened a restaurant and cultural centre called Chandani Rodhi Ghar in Tokyo’s Shinjuku district.
Prakash Shrestha, one of the operators of the centre, said it was established with an investment of around 30 million yen to promote Nepali art, culture, taste, and entertainment.
Shrestha said the centre aims to provide the Nepali community in Japan with a taste of their hometown, cultural atmosphere, and entertainment under one roof.
Grand Opening
The centre’s grand opening will be celebrated with a week-long programme from July 19 to 26.
Every evening from 4 pm during the opening week, special cultural and musical programmes will be held, featuring popular Nepali folk singer Kajal Gurung, singer Surya Khadka, and Savin Gurung, among other artists.
Located in the busy Okubo and Shinjuku areas of Tokyo, Chandani Rodhi Ghar promises to offer Nepali cuisine, warm hospitality, a cultural atmosphere, and regular musical programmes to give Nepalis abroad a taste of home.
