Nepal to Face Sri Lanka in Second Match of Kavaha Men’s Volleyball Championship

Nepal is set to face Sri Lanka in its second match of the Kavaha Men’s Volleyball Championship, currently underway in Islamabad, Pakistan.

The match is scheduled to begin at 11:15 am Nepali time at the Garrison Jinnah Sports Complex.

Both Nepal and Sri Lanka are seeking their first win in the tournament. Nepal lost its first match to Kazakhstan in a five-set thriller on Wednesday, while Sri Lanka was defeated by host Pakistan in straight sets.

Recent Performance

Nepal’s loss to Kazakhstan was a closely contested match, with Nepal making a comeback after losing the first two sets but ultimately losing the fifth set.

Following the first match, Nepal has been ranked 84th in the FIVB World Rankings, while Sri Lanka is ranked 88th.

Tournament Format

The championship features six teams from Central Asia, with each team playing against each other. The top four teams will then advance to the semifinals.

The Nepali team, led by captain Senter Hari Thapa, includes six new players who made their debut against Kazakhstan.
