Nepal Sees Highest Land Revenue Collection in Ashar

Nepal’s land revenue collection has seen a significant surge, with the highest amount collected in Ashar, according to the Land Management and Record Department.

The department’s data shows that in the fiscal year 2082/83, the highest revenue collection was recorded in Ashar, with a total of Rs 11.94 billion 89 million 74 thousand 454.

This is the highest revenue collection since the COVID-19 pandemic and the Gorkha earthquake. The department attributes the increase in revenue collection to the rise in land transactions, which was boosted by the increase in capital gains tax from Shrawan 1.

According to the department’s data, the revenue collection in Vaisakh was Rs 6 billion 26 million 38 thousand 873, which is the second-highest collection in the year. In Shrawan, the collection was Rs 3 billion 28 million 91 thousand 242, while in Bhadra, it was Rs 3 billion 14 million 7 thousand 335.

The collection in Ashoj and Kartik was relatively low, with Rs 2 billion 75 million 85 thousand 927 and Rs 2 billion 74 million 51 thousand 199, respectively. However, the collection increased in Mangsir, with Rs 4 billion 84 million 81 thousand 832, and in Poush, with Rs 5 billion 17 million 32 thousand 222.

In Magh, the collection was Rs 5 billion 99 thousand 24 thousand 536, and in Falgun, it was Rs 4 billion 14 million 95 thousand 932. The collection in Chaitra was Rs 6 billion 16 million 57 thousand 50 thousand 117, and in Vaisakh, it was Rs 6 billion 26 million 38 thousand 873.

The department’s data shows that the revenue collection in Jestha was Rs 5 billion 24 million 42 thousand 51 thousand 101.
