Nepal Army has rescued three women who went missing in the Shuklaphanta National Park while searching for a type of mushroom called ‘chyau’.
The women, identified as Lakshmi Thapa Magar, Sita Chaudhary, and Manju Rana, all from Belada village in Kanchanpur district, were found safe and sound by the Nepal Army’s Ranasingh Dal Battalion in the jungle, approximately four kilometers from the Lalleri post inside the park.
Search Operation Underway for 14 Other Women
Meanwhile, a group of 14 women from Bhimdatta Municipality-19, who entered the park from Bagphanta, have lost contact. The Nepal Army has deployed a large number of soldiers to search for the missing women.
According to the District Police Office in Kanchanpur, the women had entered the park on Sunday afternoon to search for chyau mushrooms. Police Inspector Tek Bahadur Rawat confirmed that a search operation is underway to locate the missing women.
