Nabil Bank has officially entered the AI era, transforming the banking experience in Nepal. The bank’s 42nd anniversary marked the announcement of its AI integration, which is set to make banking services faster, more efficient, and customer-friendly.

According to Nabil Bank’s Chairman, Nirvana Chaudhary, AI is not just a regular technology but a game-changer that has redefined the decision-making process, risk management, business operations, and customer financial experience. The bank has been using AI as a supportive technology, not a replacement for human employees, to reduce redundant tasks and enhance customer service.

AI-Powered Services

Nabil Bank has introduced various AI-powered services, including a self-service kiosk that allows customers to access banking services without the need for human assistance. The kiosk enables customers to deposit cash, clear checks, and perform other transactions quickly and efficiently.

The bank has also launched a digital remittance service, allowing customers to send and receive money securely and instantly between Nepal and India. Additionally, Nabil Bank has partnered with Nabil Investment Banking to provide customers with a single platform for systematic investment plans and other investment services.

Digital Transformation

Nabil Bank has been at the forefront of digital transformation in Nepal’s banking sector. The bank was the first to introduce computerized banking in 1984 and has since continued to prioritize technology adoption. The bank’s digital lounge, located in Kamaladi, offers 24/7 services, including ATM withdrawals, cash deposits, and check clearing.

The bank’s use of AI has enabled faster and more accurate decision-making, reducing the need for human intervention. The AI system analyzes customers’ financial information, credit history, and risk profiles to provide instant loan approvals. Nabil Bank’s phone loan service uses AI-based decision analytics to automate the loan approval process.

Business Intelligence and Robotics

Nabil Bank has also implemented business intelligence systems to analyze customer behavior, transaction patterns, and service usage. This information helps the bank identify areas for improvement and develop new products and services. The bank has also adopted robotic process automation to streamline tasks and reduce human error.

Neo Banking and Digital Platforms

Nabil Bank’s digital banking platform, NBANK, was launched in 2022 and has revolutionized the banking experience in Nepal. The platform allows customers to open new accounts, apply for loans, and receive remittances within minutes. The bank plans to integrate AI into NBANK to make banking services even smarter and more personalized.
