Miranda Hope’s ex-husband, Chase McWhorter, has reached a plea deal with prosecutors in his driving under the influence (DUI) case, avoiding jail time.
According to court documents, Chase pleaded guilty to one count of misdemeanor DUI. In exchange, prosecutors dropped the other charges and recommended probation, community service, and a substance abuse evaluation instead of jail time.
The judge approved the deal, ordering Chase to pay a fine of $1,383, complete 48 hours of community service, and serve a year of probation.
Chase was arrested about a year ago for DUI and possession of a controlled substance. He was originally stopped by police during the Fourth of July weekend after his vehicle drifted outside of the travel lane several times. Officers also noted that he smelled of alcohol, had bloodshot eyes, and slurred speech.
