Man Dies in Car Fire in Kathmandu

A man died in a car fire in Kathmandu on Tuesday morning. The incident occurred in Tyanglaphant, Kirtipur Municipality-1, where a car with license plate number Ba 5 Cha 3038 caught fire.

According to the police, the car’s driver, Suresh Chand Shrestha, was found dead inside the vehicle, with the seatbelt still fastened. The police suspect that Shrestha may have intentionally set the fire, as there were no signs of forced entry or struggle.

The police have launched an investigation into the incident, but preliminary findings suggest that the fire may have been self-inflicted. ‘It’s possible that the man set the fire himself,’ said an investigation officer. ‘We are also exploring the possibility of suicide.’

The car, which was purchased with a loan from Nabil Bank, was found to be in good condition, with no signs of mechanical failure. The police are still investigating the cause of the fire and the circumstances surrounding Shrestha’s death.

Shrestha’s body has been sent to Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital in Maharajgunj for post-mortem examination. The police are continuing their investigation into the incident.
