A liquid oxygen plant has been installed at the Sushil Koirala Prakhar Cancer Hospital in Khajura Bazaar, Banke.
The plant, which has a capacity of 20 kiloliters, was installed with the coordination of the Ministry of Health and the financial support of USAID.
According to the hospital’s executive director, Dr. Niraj Bhattarai, the plant was installed to reduce the hospital’s reliance on oxygen cylinders, which had to be transported from other locations.
Dr. Bhattarai stated that the plant will enable the hospital to store oxygen and reduce its dependence on external suppliers.
The hospital, which was built with the support of the Lions Club, has been providing services to cancer patients from Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpashchim provinces.
The hospital is located about 10 kilometers west of Nepalgunj Bazaar.
The installation of the liquid oxygen plant is expected to improve the hospital’s ability to provide oxygen therapy to its patients.
