Hollywood actor Kevin Spacey has appeared to admit that there may be some truth to the numerous sexual misconduct claims made against him.

Spacey made the comments during a recent appearance on Bill Maher’s Club Random podcast. When Maher suggested that the sheer volume of allegations against Spacey meant that there must be some substance to them, the actor seemed to acknowledge that he had crossed a line.

‘I never said there was no fire,’ Spacey said. ‘It just wasn’t a raging forest fire. It was a small kitchen fire that could have been put out with an extinguisher.’

Spacey was dropped from his Netflix series House of Cards in 2017 after actor Anthony Rapp accused him of making a sexual advance towards him when Rapp was a teenager. Rapp later sued Spacey for $40m, but a jury found in Spacey’s favour in 2022.

More than 50 men have accused Spacey of bad behaviour, but he has denied all the allegations and has been acquitted or found not liable in multiple legal cases. Despite this, Spacey told Maher that he now feels ‘much more welcomed’ in the entertainment industry following his court victories.
