The government has directed the removal of encroachments from various ponds and dills within the Janakpur Sub-Metropolitan City within seven days.

The High-Level Task Force formed for the protection and management of Guthi land has issued a public notice directing the removal of unauthorized structures and encroachments from various ponds and dills, including Vishwara Pond, Dashrath Talab, Argaja Sar, Ratna Sagar Pond, Murli Sar, Dirghika Sar, and Goddhoyi Pond.

According to the committee, various individuals and organizations have built unauthorized structures and occupied the ponds and dills under Guthi, which is a public property.

The notice states that if the encroachments are not removed within the specified time, action will be taken as per the prevailing law.

The Ministry of Land Management, Cooperatives, and Poverty Alleviation has expedited the implementation of the reports of the previous commissions and task forces.

In this regard, the ministry has taken forward the protection of encroached Guthi land, ponds, and public property in the Janakpur area.
