Janakpur Traffic Police Office has collected over Rs 1.14 crore in revenue in the last fiscal year 2082/83.
Chief Inspector Khagendra Kumar Dahal said that the revenue was collected from 12,603 vehicles that violated traffic rules.
In the previous fiscal year 2081/82, the office had collected Rs 2.21 crore from 28,538 vehicles.
Accidents and Fatalities
According to the data, 1,358 road accidents occurred in Dhanusha district in the last fiscal year, resulting in 82 deaths and injuring 2,198 people.
In the previous year, 1,221 road accidents had occurred, resulting in 84 deaths.
Although the number of road accidents has increased in recent years, the number of fatalities has decreased.
Cause of Accidents
Inspector Dahal attributed the increase in accidents to poor road conditions and human negligence.
However, he claimed that the number of fatalities had decreased due to increased traffic awareness and regular traffic checks.
