A 34-year-old Indian national has been arrested in Jhapa with brown sugar, a controlled substance.
According to DSP Ranjan Awal of the District Police Office, the arrest was made by a joint team of police from the Area Police Office, Anarmani, and the Narcotics Control Bureau, Kankarbhitta.
The suspect, Kamal Barman, is a resident of Khoribari Gram Panchayat in Darjeeling district of West Bengal, India.
Police raided the Deurali Hotel in Biratnagar-5, where they found Barman in possession of 31 grams and 970 milligrams of a substance resembling brown sugar.
Barman was arrested on Friday evening and is currently being investigated by the Area Police Office, Anarmani.
