Dang’s Internal Revenue Office Collects Rs 4.30 Billion in Revenue

The Internal Revenue Office in Tulsipur, Dang, has collected Rs 4.30 billion in revenue in the last fiscal year 2082/83.

According to office official Upendra Pun, the office collected 85.21% of its annual target during the period.

The office had set a target of collecting Rs 5.53 billion in revenue for the year.

The collected revenue includes Rs 2.38 billion in income tax, Rs 1.18 billion in value-added tax, Rs 772.6 million in excise duty, and Rs 143.5 million in other taxes.

This is an increase of 8.93% compared to the previous year.

The office, which has around 100,000 taxpayers under its jurisdiction, covers the districts of Dang, Pyuthan, Rolpa, Salyan, Rukum East, and Rukum West.

Despite the office building, vehicles, and documents being destroyed during the Tharuhat movement, the office continued to provide services without interruption.

For some time, the office operated from the Tulsipur Chamber of Commerce and Industry building, and has since been providing services from a rented hall at the Trisiddheshwor Temple.

Last year, the office organized tax awareness and training programs in 18 different locations to enhance taxpayer capacity.

During the year, 4,295 people obtained permanent account numbers for businesses, 28,380 obtained permanent account numbers for individuals, and 4,922 people renewed their excise duty permits and registered their businesses, according to Pun.
