Located in Rasuwa, Bhange Waterfall has become a popular tourist destination, especially during the monsoon season. The waterfall, situated near the Trishuli River, is about 181 meters high and is surrounded by lush greenery.
The area around the waterfall has seen a significant increase in tourist footfall, with visitors from Nuwakot, Kathmandu, and Dhading coming to witness its beauty. According to Tukuprasad Suvedi, ward chairman of Uttargaya-2, the number of tourists visiting the waterfall has increased significantly since its pictures and videos were shared on social media.
Suvedi stated that around 300 to 1,000 tourists visit the waterfall daily, with the number increasing to 500 on Fridays and Saturdays. He also mentioned that there are no issues with food and accommodation, as several hotels and homestays have been established in the area.
The current fiscal year has seen an allocation of Rs 4 million from the provincial and local governments for the development of the waterfall’s infrastructure. The water from the waterfall flows into a nearby pond, where tourists can be seen swimming.
The waterfall is at its peak during the months of Ashar, Shrawan, and Bhadra, with the water flow decreasing gradually during the winter months. However, the waterfall’s attraction is limited to the monsoon season, as the water flow decreases significantly after the rains stop.
Bhange Waterfall is located about 70 kilometers from Tokha in Kathmandu and 18 kilometers from Bidur, the district headquarters of Nuwakot. A viewpoint has also been established near the waterfall to facilitate tourists.
