Abhijeet Deepak, the founder of the Communist Party of India (CPI), has begun an indefinite hunger strike.
The party’s official X handle announced the news on Saturday morning, stating that Deepak had made the decision after Delhi police took environmental activist Sonam Wangchuk from a protest site to a hospital.
According to the CPI’s X handle, ‘Abhijeet Deepak has begun an indefinite hunger strike. The ‘Chalo Sansad’ march scheduled for 20 July will proceed as planned.’
Deepak also confirmed the news through an X post.
